Abstract

Since the abolition of slavery and the slave trade, international and regional organizations have made considerable efforts to combat trafficking in children in the modern sense of this phenomenon. Despite the measures taken by them for several centuries, trafficking in children continues to exist, and today there is no state that is unaffected by the problem. The exacerbation of negative trends and contemporary threats, including poverty and unemployment, armed conflicts and illegal migration, makes it necessary to update existing approaches to the problem of trafficking in children.  The authors stress that trafficking in children is a complex social phenomenon that requires a multifaceted approach. Emphasis is placed on the fact that the fight against trafficking in children will be effective if it is continuously and consistently ensured by a set of legal, organizational, informational, educational and other measures taken at both the international and national levels. At the same time, it is noted that the problems identified in the research and measures against trafficking in children are not exhaustive, but their understanding and implementation is important for effective activities in this direction.
