Penalty measures against convicts serving a sentence of imprisonment: problems of humanization

Abstract

The policy of humanization of criminal punishment, as well as the procedure for the execution of sentences in the country as a whole, is being successfully implemented in the context of one of the priorities of the Concept of legal policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2030, which, in particular, states that in order to improve the regulation of the procedure and conditions for the execution and serving of sentences and other measures of criminal legal regulation, as well as strengthening the protection of the rights and freedoms of convicts, further improvement of penal legislation is required, including by bringing it closer to generally recognized international standards.
