Abstract

Abstract. The article provides an analysis of the norms of international law and domestic law of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of ensuring and protecting human rights from unlawful actions of a totalitarian state in relation to human rights and freedoms. A review of the development of the country's legislation in the field of rehabilitation of victims of political repression carried out by the Soviet government in relation to its own people in the 1920-50s was carried out. The reasons for the creation and some results of the activities of the State Commission for the complete political and legal rehabilitation of the repressed, as well as the tasks for further study of this topic, are considered. The problem of ensuring and protecting human rights, including the rights of those illegally repressed, is global in nature. It is relevant for research by lawyers, historians, ethnographers, demographers, political scientists and other specialists, therefore, within the framework of the presented article, only some aspects of this extensive problem are analyzed.
